Successful family holidays are a personal matter for us

Our names are Monika and Piotr, and we would like to tell you how we combined our private life with work in a magical place on earth – in the beautiful Masurian town of Mikołajki. The result of this combination is our family hotel on the Great Masurian Lakes Route – Santa Monica*** where every year we prepare the best offer for our Guests for family holidays.

As they say, beginnings are always difficult… We talked at length about what and where we would like to do in life, and since we represent two “poles” of Poland (Monika – Mikołajki, Piotr - Silesia), the location was crucial for us. After spending many hours talking and convincing each other about the correctness of our choices, we decided to dedicate ourselves to tourism. Then the location came naturally – Mikołajki. This beautiful town has much to offer tourists both in summer and winter.

The process of building our facility was quite dynamic and, one might say… flexible. At first, our hotel was supposed to be a guesthouse: a cozy, atmospheric place for small family holidays. After some time, however, the concept changed and evolved several times. From a guesthouse it became a hotel, and from a dozen rooms to several dozen. Finally, in 2012, a two-star Hotel Santa Monica was established at Jana Pawła II street in Mikołajki, which two years later earned another star and specialized as a hotel for family holidays and short breaks with loved ones – but most importantly, a hotel for children.

This specialization came very naturally to us – we love the family atmosphere. Going on a vacation, even when we were just engaged, we subconsciously always looked for appropriate hotels for resting with a child and a family atmosphere. Places where it's warm and cozy, where kids happily run around their playroom, and you go to breakfast with a smile. However, when our sons were born, a hotel with attractions for children became mandatory, and our vacation for two morphed into family holidays. Unfortunately, it was not always easy to find a place that would provide everything a family with a child needs. Hence, our decision to have a hotel with attractions for children. If we couldn’t find a place that fully satisfied us – we created it. Because who knows better what a parent needs than a parent?

Being a hotel for families with children, we have many attractions for the little ones, and their main testers are Jakub and Maksymilian – our sons. It would be hard for us to prepare family holiday packages without knowing whether they would be accepted and capture the children's interest. When Jakub (the older son) comes to us with an idea that he would like something specific to be in the playroom – we always consider that possibility. Because his satisfaction is also the satisfaction of all the little ones who will use the playroom.

We want everyone to feel good in our hotel. Both our Guests who visit Mikołajki and our staff. We make sure that the family atmosphere also prevails “behind the scenes,” so each of our employees knows they can come to us to talk and we will always listen.

Our nearest plan, which we will carry out in the spring, is the expansion of the restaurant with a terrace area.
