Holidays in Masuria - hotel and local attractions
Masuria is undoubtedly the most beautiful region of Poland: endless forests, wild animals happily wandering through what seems to be endless fields, eluding the curious eyes of tourists… Holidays in Masuria are a true paradise for those who love nature, active recreation, but also for food lovers, as it would be a sin not to mention the delicious, natural Masurian cuisine.
However, Masuria is primarily lakes: blue ribbons surrounding the wild green forests, over which white sails lazily glide, exploring the undiscovered corners of this wild land. A stay in this picturesque part of Poland is not only an inseparable bond between man and nature but also a great adventure in which Mother Nature herself takes part.
Around the town, there are many attractions that will diversify your stay both as a couple and with family. Here are a few of them:
Holidays in Masuria with a touch of history - places worth visiting
Wolf's Lair - in the very heart of Masuria lie forest-covered ruins of Adolf Hitler's headquarters. A camouflaged town in the forest - 200 buildings: bunkers, barracks, 2 airports, power plant, railway station, air conditioning devices, waterworks, boiler rooms, two telex centers. (Distance from Mikołajki 48 km)
Święta Lipka - is a village where there is a historic church of exceptional value, considered one of the finest examples of late baroque in Poland. (Distance from Mikołajki 45 km)
Boyen Fortress in Giżycko - Boyen Fortress in Giżycko was built between 1843 and 1855 as a facility blocking the strategic isthmus between Lakes Niegocin and Kisajno. Access roads to the fort were to lead through the Giżycko, Kętrzyn, Prochowa, and Wodna gates, and the whole was to be surrounded by a Carnot wall 2303 meters long. In 1846, it was decided to honor one of the supporters and initiators of the construction of this object, General von Boyen, by naming the fortress after him.
Pranie Forester's Lodge - formerly called Seehorst before the war, established around 1880, was the forester's lodge of the village Krzyże. The Polish name "Pranie" comes from the meadow above which the lodge lies, which, as the Masurians said, "prała" meaning it was shrouded in mist, fumigated. Located in the Piska Forest just by Lake Nidzkie. It became famous thanks to visits by the outstanding Polish poet Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński. In 1980, the Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński Museum was created in Pranie. In July and August, poetic mornings are held in the lodge combined with recitations of Gałczyński's poems by prominent actors and presentations of classical music. (Distance 30 km)

Masuria is famous for its huge number of lakes and beautiful nature. Here you can carefree interact with nature and enjoy beautiful views. Fresh air helps us effectively regenerate and positively affects our health. We would like to introduce you to some of the best-known lakes with bathing areas worthy of attention, boasting breathtaking views and sunsets.
Lake Mikołajskie has an area of 5 km² and is just under 6 km long. The maximum depth does not exceed 12 meters. It is considered the most picturesque due to the architecture of the town right by the dam. Every hotel by the lake enjoys high popularity during the holiday season because of the proximity to the water. Lake Mikołajskie is crossed by three bridges: pedestrian, road, and railway. During spring and summer, it is the most crowded lake by sailors and motorboaters in Masuria. Here you will find a guarded city beach with a gentle shore, recommended for families with children.
Lake Śniardwy - the largest lake in Poland with an area of just under 114 m². The maximum depth is 23.4 meters, but the average depth is only 5.8 meters, which indicates many shallow areas in this water body. Sailors must be very vigilant because, although the reservoir seems huge and deep, there are places where the shallow water is only 40 cm below the water surface, not necessarily near the shore. Proper marking of the lake allows safe navigation. There are many beautiful, wild beaches here. Nowe Guty has beautiful access to the lake with a very shallow, safe shore for children. It is worth going there at sunset.
Lake Bełdany - over 12 kilometers long, with a maximum depth of 46 meters. Wild Polish Koniks can be spotted by the shore of this charming lake in a designated reserve. They are an undisputed tourist attraction. Sailors often approach them and take photos as well as feed them dry bread and apples. There are many beaches here, both wild and private. In this lake, designated zones are set for pulling a water skier or tubes and wakeboarding. Wonderful water attractions for children and adults in Masuria are definitely available on Bełdany.
These are just a few reasons why it is worth visiting our area. Our hotel also offers countless attractions, especially aimed at the youngest hotel guests. Read more on the page: Rest with a child
